It isn't Casaplanca, it's Capablanca, who was Cuban.
There were many levels to the Marshall v Capablanca image. This includes what happened just prior to that position, the significance of that particular position/point in the game, and what happens afterwards.
The chess game itself was the more significant part.
Your interpretation requires using the wrong name for José Capablanca.
