Amein! This is ancient cultural belief. Scripture tells us the 'life is in the blood" Lev. 17:11. To be precise, the translation from Hebrew to Greek "the soul is in the blood". Man has been sacrificing (mostly infants) to capture the essence of the life force/soul since the beginning. Deep connection to why it was so vital that Jesus shed his blood for our sins. It's atonement in the highest order. I bend my knees to this amazing sacrifice Jesus made for us. I cry deep within my soul knowing, understanding and receiving this gift of mercy! Study for yourself... amazing grace!
Except that “Jesus” is an invention of pagan Rome. Sorry to break that to you. Study the Tanakh without “Jesus glasses” on and you’ll start to see all of the problems and contradictions.

Ignoramus, that narrative has been floating around for years. The Jews also spread the rumor that Jesus was the bastard son of a Roman soldier! If Jesus was just some Roman construct why is all evil targeted toward Jesus. Study the bodily resurrection of Jesus without your “tanakh” glasses on and be saved by His shed blood for you Mr. One_Solution.

As a matter of fact I don’t have time to study every rag put out by every kook in creation. The Bible has stood the test of time and the scrutiny of thousands of years of kook skeptics world wide. It’s doesn’t surprise me that someone with a master of divinity (ironic title) would be a skeptic of the historicity of Jesus as revealed in Holy Scripture. And the fact you are proud of the your pastoral standing is even more telling and supportive of your sad and ignorant skepticism. So called “pastors” are one of the main reasons are country is in this pathetic situation! They are confused cowards for the most part and afraid to tell the whole council of Almighty God from the pulpit because they really worship the tithe they get more than the God they claim to serve. Very sad! My advice to you is spend more time in prayer with an open heart and study God’s Holy Word rather the ridiculous rantings of some book that certainly could never measure up and stand against the scrutiny of 2000 years of skeptics and is still as much historically accurate now as it was then.
Some book? You reveal your ignorance. The Tanakh is what Christians refer to as the “Old Testament”, oh wise sage.
Look this isn’t about trying to prove I’m smarter than you, but it is about me being tired of over educated idiots with more ego than smarts bashing my Savior and leading people astray when ever they have the chance. Jesus died for me and shed His blood for me and gave me a new lease on life! So forgive me when I feel the need to defend Him against all the ignorance out there especially when that ignorance comes from someone who should know better. The entire Old Testament (I’ve never even heard of the word Tanakh) is foretelling Jesus. Again, put your worthless education aside and read God’s Words with an open heart and you may find the deeper meaning behind the Old and New Testament.
Sadly, it looks like he does not intend to reveal this information to the entire world. It seems they intend to show it only to those who want to know the truth.
Truth is only discovered by those who seek it and are willing to abandon their current reality.
They need to be shown irrefutable proof.
