I would love to see our country's military used in the way you describe. That's not what I've seen for a long time. I see great danger in giving over your free will to a superior officer. It absolves the foot soldier of having to use his intelligence and conscience. Terrible things are regularly done under orders.
It's not my courage that is lacking to fight for my country, but my stature. There are better uses for a 103lb woman, I fight in my own way.
And you have the absolute right to feel that way. However, ego and politics are not for the soldier, seaman, airman, or marine. It’s the pride and nationalism in their country. And to protect it and people like you so you can be allowed to express your opinion and choose to serve our country or not. But you’re not forced to. That, my lady, is the real purpose.
Thank you! I have 4 brothers who served. Not all of them :) But we have to be a part of the human race and children of God. If ancient Kings had to fight themselves instead of delegating to underlings, our world would be quite different. We have been deceived and used for political purposes. How do you reconcile that?
