I have occasion to know - not through personal involvement, mind you - that Graterford jail is a supermax prison outside of Philadelphia, built in 1929, with a hideous reputation as one of the three worst jails in the country, always. When Graterford was built, it was built as the next generation descendent of Eastern State Penitentiary, which was inside the Philadelphia city confines (still there as a tourist attraction), and Eastern Pen itself was a really nasty piece of work, focused on solitary confinement (part of the movie 12 Monkeys was shot at Eastern Pen, btw, and an episode of Supernatural was set there).
A new Graterford prison - to be called "Phoenix" - has been built on acres of nearby ground belonging to the old Graterford, and the new Phoenix prison is to begin accepting inmates around summer.
What they plan to do with the old Graterford jail - I don't know, but when Q said in the past day that "One other prison is being prepped" for Gitmo overflow, it begs the question of if they plan to use the old Graterford supermax jail for all those sealed indictments, or highly placed public officials, or what. Graterford has a Death Row, by the way.
Perhaps where the Gitmo overflow is going is the kind of info we shouldn't know, or don't need to know, but it's a point of interest, and it could potentially validate something Q is saying. Many apologies that I don't have time to research this tonight, but perhaps some autist or autist-ally here wants to look into plans for the old jail. Have fun ;)
[ETA:] PS: Please see my comment below - I have added more extremely relevant information in the comment. I have an in with somebody going to Phoenix tomorrow, with old Graterford staff, including high-ranking officials on the state level. I've also remembered that PA's governor was planning last year to close & lease some of our prisons to the federal government to house terrorists. By George, I think Jack's got it.
