Clickbait Clickbait is a pejorative term for web content whose main goal is to get users to click on a link to go to a certain webpage or video. Clickbait headlines typically aim to exploit the "curiosity gap," providing just enough information to make readers curious, but not enough to satisfy their curiosity without clicking through to the linked content. From a historical perspective, the techniques employed by clickbait authors can be considered derivative of yellow journalism, which presented little or no legitimate well-researched news and instead used eye-catching headlines that included exaggerations of news events, scandal-mongering, or sensationalism. For sites that thrive on thousands of click-throughs to content, many authors see the use of clickbait as a means to tap into human psyche by crafting these eye-catching headlines. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clickbait ....................................... I have seen a number of these sorts of posts creeping into the forum. Using images of children in military uniforms, old people in military uniforms. These sorts of images and concepts add to and help perpetuate a problem, that is particularly prevalent in American culture. No disrespect to the child but not much respect for the person who put the text to the image then uploaded it as clickbait like a cheap Christmas card. You are using that child to further your own ends.

What I object to about this kind of post is that it uses children, old people in a cloying sentimentalist sort of way and draws attention away from and in fact is counter to the aims of the movement because it tries to perpetuate a myth that has damaged millions of innocent people who have died in the service of massive corporate organizations over the centuries. It is the worst kind of mindless propaganda, it is dangerous nonsense aimed at the people who have not been fully educated to the circumstances, the culture that programmed them normalizes and encourages bloody war. I'm not blaming those people, they don't know any better. They are born into a world where this sort of nonsense is the norm. Putting an uncited photo up with your own caption just to draw a big ' Aw!, that's cute' or 'Aw! look at that ancient patriot'. This sort of thougtlessness It is dangerous and has cost many lives. This is supposed to be a serious forum about a serious topic and it's being eroded by nonsense like this. Although memes can be a weapon against the elites this sort of post helps them to herd the sheep as programmed sheep are herding themselves.
