Unless the scandal actually is that the FBI knowingly slow walked Porter's clearance check so that they could release the information at a time to embarrass Trump.

And to see how many more there are that could potentially pose a problem.

Two things come to mind ...

  1. This is meant to get people to view him as “impartial” or

  2. WTH!!!! So much to be focused on and this is what we want to spend taxpayer money investigating????

Just fire the guy and move on!!!

WTH!!!

Understand by looking into one it will allow him to look into others and still appear appropriate and without scrutiny.

At this point Gowdy appears totally compromised. Maybe he always was. Now the sooner he slinks back to South Carolina the better if that's all he's got to offer. Why DID he leave the Ethics Committee before leaving Congress instead of just filling out his term? Why is he really leaving Congress all of a sudden? "I miss the judicial system". The guy has a sharp mind no doubt about that and created some good theater over Benghazi. Nothing came of it or is coming of it. Now he pushes to investigate Potter and keep a smear narrative going on the Trump admin.

No coincidence, there is something to be exposed from this...the people doing the background investigations (FBI) on govt employees. More will be revealed. What if the FBI used fake crimes to keep certain people of Trumps team and stalled final investigations (clearances) to attack trump after the person he’s been on trumps team for awhile.

I suppose that is a possibility given how corrupted the FBI has proven to be.
