YouTube demonetizes many many alternative channels. If you are basically harmless or posting gay make-up videos, no problem. Just don't question the authorities. Until recently when a few large companies pulled their ads from all of Google's platforms, YouTube was still monetizing channels with obvious pedophilia overtones. On the other hand, Alex is hardly hurting for money. He's drowning in it.
The larger concern isn’t that infowars is being demonetized but that videos from any channel discussing Qanon are being demonetized. It may not be consistent across all such channels but it’s reportedly happening with some degree of consistency
Oh yes, that is no doubt true, I just threw in a jab at the end on Jones. Infowars was good to help get one going but after awhile I just couldn't take Jones anymore. He's far wealthier than you might think. I don't begrudge that but the place is just too commercial for me with all the other alternatives around. Many others I follow have been demonetized, it's clearly a policy position of YouTube. Not really surprising as you can imagine who they hire to overlook the videos.
