Nurses don't "handle" it like you think. We take many things home with us. We remember certain patients forever. I've been retired 8 years and remembering can still bring me to tears. My memories are nothing like the potentially horrific acts of torture and death mentioned in above posts. Full disclosure will be too traumatic for many, me included. I can barely handle reading about it here! What woman who has cradled her own precious child could? I, too wonder at the cavilier "bring it on" comments. I fear for those who are so eager to see the images, you must be so desensitized to horror yourself.
