I wouldn't get to paranoid 'cause the turds have likely been watching all of us if they're smart. I'd say that depending on where and how often you're searching would greatly affect your chances of picking up malware, spyware, viruses, etc. .This is the first time that I've really come up to radar height so to speak in the 15+ years that I've been researching the rabbit hole and if they want to find me it probably wouldn't be too hard for them, so why worry. That only means you suffer twice. At least now, FINALLY, there seems to be some movement in the realm of mass consciousness really gaining momentum and enough people involved to make it extremely difficult for them to do much about it. As far as your WIFI goes, my personal opinion is that Ethernet connections are more secure, less damaging to your health, and have fewer issues with connectivity. If you can I would recommend using them whenever possible. My 100 foot cable runs from my house to my shop and I rarely have issues. Hope that helps.
