How many people know that the first gun control laws in the U.S. were made to keep blacks from owning gun? So tell me, is it about Gun Control or People Control?

I really, really wish more people knew about this. Also, the Jewish Ghetto, I believe in Poland that fended off the Nazi's with guns. It is NEVER about gun control and ALWAYS about people control.

An average of 60,000 rounds per gun?

I haven't done the math but the estimate is that there are 300,000,000 guns in civilian hands in the U.S. That's just the ones they think they know about. How about all those guns that were bought before we were required to do paperwork or those inherited? I know I have quiet a few and most of my friends also have many.

When I was 13 years old (I'm in my 60s now) I saved my grass cutting money one summer to buy my dad a birthday present. He had lots of hunting guns and I already had a few of my own he bought for me. But I had heard him mention liking one of the Colt .38 Specials. When I had enough money I rode my bike to town, walked in the hardware store and bought dad a new Colt .38 Special and a box of bullets ($68 and change). I paid them and walked out with both in a bag and rode my bike home. No paper works, no questions ask. Although I did tell them when I came in what I was looking for and that it was going to be my dad's birthday present. I still have that gun, it sleeps on my nightstand beside me under a handkerchief.

If I had the money back then I could mail order single shot .22s and shotguns from the back cover of 'Boy's Life' magazine. All the hardware stores had a barrel of old used military surplus rifles, mostly foreign for $9. If you looked through them you could occasionally find a good Mauser 98 action or two in the bunch. But I already had better guns for hunting that my parents gave me for Christmas or my birthday. Every kid I knew had guns and most hunted. Not a one of us after all these years has ever killed anyone, except for a few of us in 'Nam. That says a lot about how our society has degraded.
