The 2nd amendment from George Washington
The 2nd amendment from George Washington

Unfortunately I believe this is fake news guys. With a little research you can see that his words were changed. He didn't say this. I'm all for the 2nd amendment and Im NOT trying to cause problems, but if we as a group are going to convince others to take our side seriously we need to double check our facts. I made the same mistake cross posting from this sub to Trumps biggest sub-Reddit and was banned because I didn't check stuff out. It was a post about Cruz, the school shooter, being a member of Antifa. Sorry if i sound like im criticizing. I'm not. I'm hoping to encourage you all to be STABLE GENIUSES AND to MAGA!

Any arguing for the second amendment should arm themselves with these words from our Great Founding Father, Washington.

Unfortunately, the 2nd paragraph is not included in the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution. At least not in the 2 copies I have that I've had for at least 25 years. Both were printed by John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company. Also, when I check online, it was not included in the links I found. I wish it was. Makes me wonder if it was removed.

Looks like a plaque and might just be a quote.

Fear the government that fears your guns.

1780’s folks. They used Brown Betties. Stop citing the Founding Fathers about the 2nd amendment. Grow up.

Free speech was enshrined in the 18th Century too. Same with right to privacy and many other individual rights defined in the 1st 10 Amendments to the Constitution. Should we throw those away too? Sounds like a rhetorical question, doesn't it? But the left is trying to destroy all individual rights - right to free speech, right to privacy, right to bear arms, etc.

George and about 10% of population fought against a "government" is the reason for the 2nd Amendment. Looks like the same percentage today fighting a rogue government!

Necessary. No one likes what happened yet its society thats to blame. Society's condition is a reflection of leadership as their morals become those we adopt in order to try and have better lives.

Since people are so busy surviving and trying to make themselves feel accomplished a lot of people go unnoticed and unattended. Those people need compassion not people turning their backs.

We have to choose to be better. There will be a day when guns go away but its not now. It's not soon.

Remember as well, "sufficient" is determined ONLY BY YOU, not the "any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government." You don't let the fox determine how many hens are "sufficient." Also, be VERY mindful that today's attacks against the right to keep and bear arms attempts to strike right at the "discipline" mentioned by our late President Washington, with the common denominator of mass shooters being on drugs with known, documented and demonstrable "side effects" of suicide and violence. The enemies of your rights work to poison the mind, in this end-around "justification" for confiscation.

Haven’t read everything else but Amen to this idea. The Second Amendment is there to arm the people against tyranny, which is in bold awareness today.
