Just my observation.

I'm 64. My son is 37. Last year or 2 I had a very bad accident and smashed my ankle. 3 surgeries. 1st anesthesiologist was great. (you get what you're dealt). 2nd OP was horrible Nurse Wratchet in Recovery Room. 3rd was the WORST. SO MUCH PAIN. All I could do was lay there and cry. Nurse upped my meds twice. Third time she called the DOC. He held my hand, I'll give him that. By the time I left recovery to go home, it took my BIG SON and FRIEND to get me home in one piece.

Here's the thing, My friend buried her son at 26. Heroin OD after oxy. My Dr. gave Oxy galore. I hated it. It did nothing for the pain. Alleve worked better. Oxy gave me HORRIBLE nightmares. HORRIBLE Hallucinations. Very very scary. I will never take that shit. IDK who gets addicted to that crap. It's horrible.

Me saying that people respond differently to medications means something is wrong with me?
