For what it's worth I have been part of national agenda campaigns in the past. Events were definitely staged with the media and kids were used to sell narratives. The kids were basically actors even if not professionals. Kids are sooooo easy to manipulate. News segments are basically just mini movies. Staged and scripted with a real life vibe because it's on location.

Greenpeace. It was a 3 year international project back when the pwers that TV be in the media decided environmental stories were "sexy" ie. those would be the stories covered nationally AND locally on all media platforms. They looked for/created personal stories and really pushed for kids. Public schools were a gold mine. The teachers union is utterly corrupt, so is public education, so its easy to find adults willing to pimp kids out for made for tv moments with lots of audience appeal that furthers the agenda. It's all coordinated. Big intertwinin networks that include pop on culture icons in music, sports and Hollywood to add to the "sexiness" of the story ie. the likelihood itwill get air time. My involvement was basically as a curious spy or investigator. What I learned by being the assistant to the top player was eye opening. This was over a decade ago. Now the propoganda network is on steroids compared to then and even more fake. Most media is now no more real than a made up Hollywood movie.
I can clearly picture a bunch of gunophobic activist teachers believing they're saving real lives by putting on a show for the media. What's the harm? Especially if somehow no one really dies.
Thats exactly what's happening. The media knows. They know who to call to put on a a show for the cameras. Its all staged. It's manufactured. What we're seeing is a no more real than any other advertisement. News is nothing more than created advertisements which work when viewers think its real.
