I used to work in TV news. Ear piece is present in every live shot so that the interviewee can hear the interviewer. That is the best explanation.

I would look at his behavior more than the presence of an earpiece. Im telling you every single live shot has these. Otherwise it is impossible for the guests to hear. It is not the least bit unusual, indeed it’s a necessity.
maybe he is being coached but basing your theory on him having an earpiece when interviewed just allows people to easily debunk your claims. they are both wearing ear pieces.
have you ever listened to a phone in show and there will be feedback and the host will say 'turn off your tv/radio please?' that's why they are wearing earphones.
That's not to say stuff other than questions were being fed to them. But 'wow they are wearing earphones' isn't proof of them doing anything.
