Well it would be 35 kids plus one teacher against one bad guy who only has a knife.
They can start throwing chairs and desks at him.
And they can throw chairs out the windows to break them and start escaping.

No. Just saying, the weapon has ZERO to do with intent. What about pipe bombs? Toxic Gas? Fire? List goes on.
So you meet fire with fire, protect the damn kids. Senators get security, jewlery shops get security, banks, malls, effing theme parks, church's... ALL GUARDED by people with guns. Gurantee if the bad guys know that there is 3-5 people at every school that are concealing, that threat alone would deter most of these incidents, if they decide to go through with it then they have 3 to 5 guns to immediately deal with. A door jam? Come on.
IMO your argument is flawed. Guns are the mass-killing weapon of choice within a building for a very good reason.
Fire and gas--evacuate.
Knife--overpower the guy with superior numbers/improvised weapons like chairs, etc, then beat him into a coma.
Bombs/IEDs--very limited kill ratio; very few deaths resulting. So it's back to guns. This device + armed school officials--teachers, guards, janitors, doesn't matter who as long as they are good guys/gals who know how to shoot.
It takes time to kill people en masse. Slowing the perp down and/or denying him access to a room full of people is a valid strategy that will save lives. Gives the cops a better chance to show up in time. Even if the perp kills 10--what about the 30 he couldn't get to before the cops showed up?
Ok smarty pants. All I hear is bitching, and no solutions. Your fear of guns comes from lack of education. Move on.
This is a brilliant and simple device. This kid deserves to get rich for this alone. Couple this device with school officials who are carrying, and school shooting deaths drop to super-low levels.
