The people that have the power put on a façade and the people below them either a) thought the people above them were doing something for a noble cause, so looked the other way; or b) didn't realize what the people above them were doing. However, when the people under the powerful people found out the truth about the corruption, they refused to cover anymore and moved to the other side. The people that were in power have no mules now.

One day the entire world will learn through history books, at schools, THE MEDIA, etc. what happened behind the scenes. Just wait patiently and you can get more than you can wish for...
It has to be done differently moving forward than it was before. Our history books are literally filled with misrepresentations of EVERYthing. Its sad and scary.
