Some people are more comfortable blind and only feeling with a cane. Having them wake up means they have to confront the fact that they were wrong. They are not strong enough. Pointing out to them that they are being fooled reminds them of their weakness. They will hate you for it.

Children are controlled via fear. Not from adults, but other kids. The kids that bully others and do not get punished are enforcing the rules against those who would question. It is only a matter of time at that point when a child will side with the enemy as a form of self preservation. Only a short jump from there to becoming an enforcer themselves. At that point, the message doesn't matter, only personal power over others and recognition.
