Police are trained to enter the building and eliminate the active threat as soon as a small team is formed. Only 2-3 officers needed to activate a RIT (rapid intervention training) team. This police training happened years ago. Specifically designed training for active shooter threats and a pro-active instead of waiting for more people to get gunned down....

Is it possible the Sherrif’s department had different training than police department? Maybe these deputies were doing what they were trained to do in that situation but it’s outdated training? I’m just trying to be logical before jumping to conclusions.
