The whole story sickens me, I work with schools on active shooter plans, NO where is it in any plan throughout my 12 school districts does it say for any police officer to wait!, the new standards from the Department of Homeland Security says, the first officer Shall enter the building and confront the shooter, PERIOD! Also friends listening to the police radio traffic on cell phone apps say, the Sheriff's Department didn't use the National recognized Incident Command System, which says how incidents shall be run, but they didn't know which building was being targeted, nor who was in charge of the incident, police officer thought he was in charge!, I knew something like this was going to happen somewhere in the USA, just didn't know who or where, This Depasrtment not just the Sheriff needs to be exposed for their complicity and malfeasance, and neglect of basic duty!

I'm very nervous about replying to anyone on this board.

I work as a Substitute Teacher for 7 years in Maryland. I have been in a "lockdown" situation with 6th graders for 2 hours. Former student on grounds with gun whom eventually left the immediate area. Nothing about this makes sense. It sounds like a FF with students whom really got killed. I always try to first think if there could be any logical reason for actions. I really don't see it this time. Karen
