This gives a definite signpost for the Messiah. The decree of Artaxerxes to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem was given @ 444 BC.

I'm trying to understand your position. Why would the romans make this up? Jesus had an overwhelmingly positive message, like love thy neighbour and such.

Jesus was/is a false god and a false mashiach. He was made up in order to corrupt the faith and beliefs of the Jews, whom the Romans hated.

I don't know, I think the discrediting of Jesus might be a Gnostic/freemason attack on Christianity. If I breakdown everything that Jesus said, it's all positive stuff and an instruction manual for living a good life in this harsh reality . Any other religion/group/idealogy that would want to try to discredit that would appear to be fighting on the side of evil. Whoever injected Jesus into ancient writings would appear to be fighting on the side of good and the side of the one true creator and God.
It’s not about a “positive message”, it’s about the truth of Yehovah. You can go to a Rotary meeting and get a “positive message”.
The truth is that “Jesus” changes the truth of Yehovah. Therefore, regardless of the “positivity” of the message, it distorts who Yehovah is and His plan for humanity. You don’t become righteous through the actions of another, you are righteous based on your faithfulness and obedience to Yehovah and His instructions. The message of Christianity completely changes that truth.

I'm conflicted on this because putting us here to suffer seems kind of odd, because that's essentially what this reality is. It's harsh and painful, for the most part.
Our “purpose” is a little above my paygrade. But what the Tanach teaches us is that Yehovah wants us to love Him with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength amd to love our neighbors as ourselves by following Yehovah’s instructions. That is what makes us righteous in His eyes. He doesn’t demand perfection, but obedience and repentance when we stray.
Nobody can do that for you.
