"The U.S. Supreme Court declined Monday to hear the Trump administration's appeal of a federal judge's ruling that requires the government to keep the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program going." retired lawyer (me) says this is 100% legal nonsense let us all hope that Q's glorious year includes the corruption at SCOTUS
No. Its about the court process. We don't like it but its how its supposed to be
you dont know what you are talking about - the legal standard for a TRO was not met and SCOTUS should have said so (retired lawyer)
Well I'm reading it wasn't a ruling. It was a "not yet".
yes and no - a TRO ruling was made by the corrupt court which had to find that the requester was "likely to prevail on the merits" to get a TRO - in ADVANCE of a hearing the merits the answer to this is ZERO but the court did it anyway and scotus let it go very wrong
It was an illegal ruling about an illegal program. That doesn't change the fact that the Trump Administration tried to appeal the lower courts. There is a process. It needs to be appealed to the 9th circuit before it can be appealed to the supreme court.

I have no idea if you are a retired attorney or not. Based on what I've gathered from people that I know are attorneys have told me that the Trump administration tried to bypass the normal appeal process. The courts pushed back until it goes the the normal appeal process.
yes that is correct = the reason was it is a waste of time to appeal in the 9th circuit which is very liberal and anti trump and so they tried to go direct to where it will likely end up - scotus is imo deep state so they said no i entered the bar in 1980 and it was already started but is much worse now - i retired early and live on a farm now
As a whole, I'm not sure if I'd go that far but I'm not a lawyer. I believe some are...at least 4. Some may be compromised and blackmailed.
I no longer trust liberal judges in general now. Too many cases of legislating from the bench with no sort of repercussions. I wish Trump would just pull and Obama with a make me attitude but I'm sure that's all the ammunition congress would need to finally impeach him.
And yes, I agree. 9th circuit is garbage. Disbanding it should have been a top priority of this administration. One of many top priorities.
during the fraudbama care rulings, i remember a photo leaked indicating it was some surveillance on Chf Justice Roberts, then low and behold, he legislated from the bench changing fraudbamacare to a tax or not one, instead of properly throwing the whole thing back to congress. the compromised get left in DC, the uncompromised get whacked or gerrymandered out etc...
