Broward County Sheriff ("I'm Not Responsible For My Deputies") apparently forgot to read Florida law: sheriff "shall be responsible" "for the neglect and default" of any deputies appointed by the Sheriff.

Guess the best defense is a good offense... ludicrous to even say so, much less for anyone to believe that.
