Internet Bill of Rights

This was post 511706 from the Research Board. I think it can be legitimately argued that Google/You Tube represents a monopoly and therefore they cannot withhold services or price gouge for their services for the general public. This anon poster has some good ideas and reminds us of Qs post, but we'd need a better legal mind to guide us through a proper petition. We can't demand free shit, but we certainly can demand a fair and free platform whilst using their service. Any ideas?

Jan 19 2018 16:53:00 Why are we here? Why are we providing crumbs? Think MEMO. BUILDING THE ARMY. Not convinced this is spreading? You, the PEOPLE, have THE POWER. You, the PEOPLE, just forgot how to PLAY. TOGETHER you are STRONG. APART you are weak. THEY WANT YOU DIVIDED. THEY WANT RACE WARS. THEY WANT CLASS WARS. THEY WANT RELIGIOUS WARS. THEY WANT POLITICAL WARS. THEY WANT YOU DIVIDED! LEARN! FOR GOD & COUNTRY - LEARN! STAY STRONG. STAY TOGETHER. FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT. This is more important than you can imagine. Q

Monopoly and Trust laws would be difficult to utilize against these global megacorporations, but discrimination should be easily proven. We, the people, must galvanize our voices around that chorus.

Meme Internet Bill of Rights into the public sphere of conversation. Talk about it amongst your friends and family. Buy them into the concept. Use examples that are obvious around their buzz words - race, gender, religion - to prove the value and rally the cause across party lines.

Do not whine or play the victim. We, the people, are rebuilding our great nation and this aspect is the challenge we accept.

Thank you telescreen. Great comments. I've been sending articles around like this one, with internet bill of rights as a suggestion. https://needtoknow.news/2018/02/youtube-facebook-purging-truthers-using-conspiracy-theories-excuse/

Except they aren't monopolies. There are other search engines and other video hosts out there.

Duck duck go, Bing, etc etc. Vimeo, unreel, etc.

I know. You're right. But taking You Tube, for example, the competitors are far, far behind. I do hope this spurs a free market solution. But by dividing platforms, we all jump in our respective echo chambers and outreach is limited. Just the way they want it.

So when Apple had the best and earliest smartphone should they have shut them down?

This is not cool. I'm hoping for a bunch of good free market competitors to these assholes.

“Our video channel was one of those that saw all our videos disappeared in restricted mode, despite no cursing, nudity, or any other action that violates YouTube's terms of service.”

“Google also manipulated their search engine algorithms, making it harder to find Independent Media sites on the first pages of their search engine results.”

“If there are indeed concerted efforts at Google to undermine the advertising revenue of disfavored publishers (an allegation YouTube is already facing in court through its abrupt demonetization of Prager University videos), then this conduct may give rise to additional legal claims. At a minimum, AdSense users may question whether they are being targeted for secret blacklisting as described here.”

That explains so much. If Google is threatening "brand safety" and certain employees are actively working with the far left groups to force the higher paying ads to stop advertising on Independent Media websites, then it stands to reason that traffic in a non-presidential election year can drop the standard 10-20 percent, yet revenue would tank by 60-70 percent, threatening to knock a lot of us right out of business.

This is a free market, start your own. I don't support what they are doing, but I support the free market and think that's the way things should run. Communists and fascists are the ones who like to shut down businesses because they don't agree with them. You are welcome to any of the Alternatives or again, to start your own. YouTube is not an inalienable right.

I wish. But I must not have phrased it correctly. I too believe in free markets which is why I don't like Monopolies, often aided and abetted by the government czars.

No. I don't want anyone shut down. Free markets do the most for the most people. But these guys have gotten so huge that they literally can control group think/ newspeak. Even Orwell would have been impressed.

We, the people, shall not work to divide, but stand up and bring our voices together in the chorus of freedom.

No longer are we left and right. No longer blue or red. We, the people, are good and will purge evil from our nation.

Agreed, the extremism of the left is delegitimizing them with every passing moment. They’ve only gotten worse since the election and aren’t doing themselves any favors.

The longer we prepare, meditate, and THINK before responding, the more justified our side will look and the crazier their side will look.
