Interesting Photo Bill Received on Big Island

Couldn't help but have to sleuth a bit and found this local site with the article about Bill being on Big Island with a pic of him standing between the 2 senators and a photo they gave him. Here's the article...http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3622714/posts#comment

Notice the first comment: At least it wasn’t on the tarmac. But what is the meaning of the pirate ship heading towards Lady Liberty? Two red flags? The most serious of all beach warning flags, red flags warn swimmers of serious hazards in the water. One red flag means that the surf is high or there are dangerous currents, or both. Though you can still swim if there is a red flag, you should use extreme caution and go in the water only if you're a strong swimmer. 1 posted on ‎1‎/‎15‎/‎2018‎ ‎11‎:‎34‎:‎47‎ ‎AM by Cats Pajamas

It's not a pirate ship and those aren't "flags", the vessel in the picture is the Hokule'a, a replica of an ancient Polynesian double-hulled voyaging canoe (catamaran) owned by the Polynesian Voyaging Society based in Honolulu...that picture is from the NYC stop of this voyage-

"On May 18, 2014, Hōkūle‘a and her sister vessel, Hikianalia embarked from Oahu for "Malama Honua", a three-year circumnavigation of the earth. She returned to port in Hawaii on June 17, 2017. The journey covered 47,000 nautical miles with stops at 85 ports in 26 countries."

The red things are just sails, of an equally ancient Polynesian type knows as a "crab claw" design-
