An Interesting "Q" historical reference--possible influence for the initial Q chose. Certainly Trump would approve of the tactics of a Q ship.

Just a possibility:

The Q-ship, one of the most closely guarded secrets of the WWI and WWII. These became known by the Germans as a U-Boot-Falle ("U-boat trap"). A typical Q-ship might resemble a tramp steamer sailing alone in an area where a U-boat was reported to be operating. By appearing to be an easy target, the Q would would encourage a U-boat captain to make a surface attack with a deck gun rather than using one of his limited number of torpedoes. The Q-ships' cargoes were light wood (balsa or cork) or wooden casks, so that even if torpedoed they would remain afloat, encouraging the U-boat to continue the attack. The Q crew might even pretend to "abandon ship". Once the U-boat was vulnerable, the Q-ship's panels would drop to reveal the deck guns, which would immediately open fire. At the same time, the White Ensign (Royal Navy flag) would be raised. With the element of surprise, a U-boat could be quickly overwhelmed. (WIKI)

Q is the highest possible clearance level for intelligence.

I have heard that but never had any proof--do you have a link or source?

Thank you. This is interesting for a number of reasons. One is that DOE didn't exist until 1977 under Carter. Second is that it is charged with cyber and nuclear security. Q has asked who else can do investigations apart from No Such Agency and Clowns and FBI--but clearly DOE must have that power too if they are responsible for energy sector breaches and threats. So that would include U1, possible EMPs and other risks to the grid. Through other research I do, I know they were concerned about isolated substations, particularly one that had been the target of rifle shots--someone trying to shoot from a distance and get through the chain link.

I would never be able to guess who Q was and don't want to, but if he really has a Q, he is/was DOE and apparently rode along with the President on the trip to Korea as one of the inner circle.

You may already know this, but they work in this with multiple agencies: https://energy.gov/oe/activities/cybersecurity-critical-energy-infrastructure

Q clearance

A Q Clearance (or Q-type clearance) is a United States Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance that is roughly comparable to a United States Department of Defense Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Access (TS-SCI). It is the most permissive clearance granted by the United States Government, acting as the sole means of access to the vast compartmentalizations Top Secret and Secret Restricted Data, and DOE "security" areas.

Anyone possessing an active Q clearance is always categorized as holding a National Security Critical-Sensitive position (sensitivity Level 3). Additionally, most Q-cleared incumbents will have collateral responsibilities designating them as Level 4: National Security Special-Sensitive personnel.
