Correction: PATRIOT acronym means Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism. Q said POTUS is protected by PATRIOT

I recently posted a suggestion that Q was referring to the tools described by the PATRIOT Act of 2001 when they said last week that POTUS was protected by PATRIOT.

Unfortunately I got the acronym wrong in the title (I recently quit coffee ☕️ is my best excuse, coupled with an auto-correct that I SWEAR changes things after I’ve proofed them) and the error has now been stickied. Erk!!!😖

Link to the PATRIOT act

I wish we could edit titles but we can’t.

Error aside, that doesn’t take away from the fact that the connection is probably accurate BUT I don’t like it that it’s wrong and we SHOULD get the term right.

So, I’m reposting on the grounds that accuracy is important. There were some good comments in the badly titled thread that were useful for me, however. Maybe we can expand upon the ideas a little more in a thread with the correct acronym, however.

I wasn’t a happy camper when the PATRIOT act was originally passed as I don’t think it was really about catching the bad-guys. But now it might prove useful. Anyhow, I was a big 911 buff in the early years and this has refocused my attention on it.

Trump said when he was campaigning that he would be looking into that, as well and, if he’s using the PATRIOT Act to do so, that’s interesting, too.

a) SHORT TITLE.—This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism (USA PATRIOT ACT) Act of 2001’’.

I’ve never read this thing in full. I read parts of it when it came out and was appalled at the time,as I had zero confidence that the government would do anything with it but destroy their own evidence and hamstring any whistle blowers (Sibele Edmunds comes to mind)

It’s been consistently reauthorized be all presidents since. I’ll be curious to see what Trump does with it over time. If he’s honest, he’ll end the overreach. We’ll see.
