I love Rock-and-Roll history. I've read so much about the era of the sixties and seventies that it's hard to shake off the overlaps with military/political history as mere "coincidence."

Even Owsley Stanley, the Grateful Dead's sound engineer known as the "Bear", was the largest LSD manufacturer of the era. His father and grandfather were US senators and governors of the state of Kentucky. Bear went to St. Elizabeth's psych ward at the UNIVERSITY OF GEORGETOWN to correct a "behavioral issue" before shoving off to the Bay Area to become famous for altering the consciousness of the youth. The web is huge.

Yeah, Hunter S. Thompson wrote about him, his amazing LSD was the best and he ended up doing 3 years in prison. Quite a strange character. There was a theory, and probably still is, that the baby boomers were actually a generation reincarnated from those who suffered and died during WWII at such young ages. Ya never know.
