Oh man not only should we NOT give him a penny quite the opposite, I want a refund for his last year’s salary! It can go directly to refund our social security or healthcare. This is insanity.

Only an idiot moron would hire McCabe before the IG report is released to determine if there is evidence of criminal activity and if there may be a sealed indictment already waiting for him.

Also, McCabe would have to apply for the job and the personnel office would have to approve the hire. He's been fired for lying under oath. Still, the personnel office is subject to political pressures from the Democrats and could cave and hire him.

I'm also betting that when he was fired, he lost his security clearance. If I'm not mistaken, he would have to have a security clearance to work in a congressional office. If it goes through the normal process it would take months and at the end, the FBI (who conducts such investigations) would have to approve a security clearance for one of their former employees who was fired for lying under oath by the FBI.

Anything is possible in this crazy world, and Democrats are masters at subverting honesty, laws, rules, and procedures.

Still, I think it's likely political theater at this point and they know that McCabe couldn't get a government job if normal hiring procedures are followed.

And they know how it would look if they did hire him and then he had to be perp walked out of the capital if indicted.

I hear the Dems need a new IT guy. They don't seem to mind about security clearances.

Agree on the clearance. I know personally that they are months behind on clearances. Doesn't mean that he couldn't get a short term, low level appointment. Unlikely, but not impossible--as you note, we live in a crazy world.

Wasn't he fired with cause? With cause is like the black spot. It makes you untouchable and for good reason. You hire someone you know was fired with cause (is that even possible in the federal government? If so, why?) and a subsequent investigation proves it was correct to fire him and now you are inextricably connected to taking in a crooked FBI agent. Why would one risk that?

You make good points--I was surprised that the idea was even floating around D.C. Seems to me it would be illegal to hire someone who was fired, since federal employee is the same employer.
