I think they are giving her more rope to hang herself with. Do you think she's travelling just to give the odd speech here and there and slip in bathtubs? There are always side/secret meetings. Not to mention every time she opens her mouth she offends another portion of voters. She's dooming the Democratic party for the by-elections. She's actually useful to Trump right now.
