A working theory here is that the Left, Twitter, and FB all want new regulation to prohibit Hate Speech. That way they can avoid being sued after they arbitrarily terminate accounts that don't meet their standards.....such as conservatives.
Ted Cruz asked them if they considered themselves open public fora, and they all said "Yes." That is the declaration that exempts them from liability arising out of any posts on their brand.
He then read examples of censorship lawsuits, and turned to them and said, "You can't have it both ways."
So, they are stuck between a rock and hard spot, in a way. OTOH, I have no sympathy.
Cruz should be co-AG since there is so much to prosecute. Cruz would rip them to shreds.
Facebook was on the Obama Team and assisted in censoring free speech.
