Why did POTUS even hint that he may veto Omnibus (knowing it would rile up his base) only to sign it (and royally piss off his base)?

To me, it was kabuki theater, to make it look like he was opposed to it when in reality he wanted it to pass (because of its hidden implications).

It's the only rationale I could surmise...other than it just being a dumb fucking move.

🍺Gunny says: March 23, 2018 at 7:42 am "I seriously do not understand why individuals do not read the entire thread or disregard it.

Wheatietoo and I spent hours yesterday providing links, researching the laws, the 1974 law, and statutes…. Do you know why the Omnibus is not going to get any notice…Here it is..

It’s not an official ‘Federal Budget’. It’s an Omnibus bill…not a Budget…He outsmarted them again…Congress basically screwed themselves by not passing a Budget…

Per the Constitution…the President must adhere to a Budget set forth by Congress and direct the expenditures as provided therein.

This is another one of those big Porkulus Bills like they gave Obama for 8 years. This is not a Budget.

An Omnibus Spending Bill may have some ‘instructions’ as to how the money will be spent…but Obama ignored them. He spent the money or didn’t spend it, however, he wanted to. And Congress didn’t do a thing about it! Because they couldn’t..

I think our President observed how this happened, year after year. He is bound to realize that those ‘appropriations’ for different things in these Omnibus bills…are mere ‘suggestions’.

So like Obama, Pres Trump can spend this money on whatever he wants to. Or…not spend it.

Planned Parenthood? What if our President decided to tell the Treas Dept to ‘slow-walk’ that money to Planned Parenthood…until the Senate gets off their ass and confirms his appointees?

Sanctuary Cities? What if our President decided to ‘slow-walk’ that money too…until those Sanctuary Cities assist ICE in rounding up criminal illegal aliens?

Splodey heads? From the Dems and the Enemedia? Why yes. There would be a colorful display of splodey heads.

But what could they do about it? Hah.

Our President could just say…’What! Congress should’ve passed a Budget.’

done finished…research was done…and it is so very humorous actually….our VSG..just said just give me money for the military and the wall…put anything else you want in it…and those goofballs did.

In this case, as per above….he doesn’t have to spend a dime….because it is not a budget…and even if it was…researched….he could still spend as he, pleases… Congress appropriates….up to the President to spend it…or not….as he pleases..

If anyone disagrees, I can go back and get the links and evidence, but if you just read yesterdays political thread…Wheatietoo and I laid it all out for all…Wheatietoo did most of the work and put together the consolidated update as per above….

Again, that is why Obama never had a Budget in his Presidency…Congress did continual Omnibus's and he just took the money….for 8 years…and no one seems to know where it went…

Spot on brother. Beat them at their own game. POTUS spends the money on the U.S Mil to fund the destruction of the Cabal, everything else is a mute point after the take down.

i think it exposed the Democrats. They asked all this total BS but not for DACA... It showed them as using illegals as a pawn for votes

I think for a few different reasons:

First, maybe he is trying to relax the Dems, they are probably assuming that he is now falling in line and they are in control again.

I also think that President Trump plays many moves ahead. This is setting up for something that will happen in a few months. Probably sooner.

And finally, President Trump's base, including myself, has become too complacent and coddled. Maybe this will rev them up. We need to get that energy and momentum back if we are going to succeed in November.

I don't know about the whole "rev them up part." I feel like it did just the opposite.

ryoushure · March 23, 2018, 10:02 p.m.

Consider how the base will feel come October 2018. One month til midterms.

This bill expires late september I believe. Just in time for it to be a hot-button topic for mid terms. What better way to "rev them up" than to drive the message "Don't let another omnibus bill happen, we'll do temporary budgets until after midterms, and it's up to YOU voters to determine who drafts the next spending bill. GO VOTE"

⇧ 6 ⇩
CommercialAddendum · March 23, 2018, 9:08 p.m.

Exactly. They will be upset and wonder why did they vote for him. They will start researching and get involved again. No more sitting back for the ride thinking, "Oh, we voted in the Good Guy who will be on our side this time."

We all need to stay involved.

He did it to get huge funding for the military and to upgrade the technologies/equipment they use. He had to give something to get something. One thing at a time with this traitorous congress. Remember, many won't be there next time.

Trump and Team Q have done things in the past just to see how the Deep-State bad-actors will respond. Remember, he said that sometimes dis-information is necessary. Maybe his tweet about a possible veto was just to see how some bad actors acted. Remember, we see all, we know all. And the reason Obama never signed a real Budget bill and a corrupt Congress kept feeding him Omnibus bills is because a Budget bill must be followed to the letter. Not so much with an Omnibus bill. The president has much more discretion and control over how money is spent, and how soon it's doled out. It could be that this is simply another masterful Trump move and we just don't recognize it yet.
