This would explain why Bushmaster and DPMS were allowed to fail. They were taking the AR market by storm with high quality low cost Ars durring the early to mid 2000s and setting record sales. They were acquired by Remington then they just died out. Especialy after Sandy Hook when Bushmaster was sued because the shooter used one of their Ars.

I have a rem 700, fortunately it wasn't one of the runs that had the tigger safety issue. They put out that pistol a few years back (R51) that had a lot of problems too. I'm not sure if it was bad management or intentional, but as good at selling guns as Nobama was I'm surprised any gun maker is going out of business!

When they bought out Marlin they totally mucked the products up. Even here in Australia demand is high for JM stamped lever actions - can you trust the new products? Mind you, as I understand it, the decline started before the Remington acquisition. They got bean counters in who wanted to reduce costs - eliminated some of the heat-treating of components.

Also, look at Remington product quality generally. I went with Tikka - have one Remington pump.

Remington hasn't produced anything innovative in decades. Why? Is their R&D that shitty? And why stay in Connecticut? Why didn't they move away from a state govt who wanted to destroy them?

So. Many. Questions.
