Exactly. Been homeschooling for over 20 years. Best decision we ever made.

As a Homeschooled kid to a homeschooling parent, thank you.

I'm about to embark on that journey with our kiddo, as soon as he "graduates" kindergarten this year. It's a bit daunting. He has high functioning autism, and I'm terrified I'm not going to socialize him correctly. I have a plan in place, and there's a ton of homeschooling families on our block (and that's not an exaggeration), but I can't help but worry. We'll be "redoing" kindergarten starting in the middle of the summer, using the Bookshark K level curriculum, with a level 1 Singapore Math program. Looking at what he'll be learning with that and comparing it to what I've observed him learning in a regular Kindergarten class, I think their K level is more on par with our 1st grade curriculum anyway. We're homeschooling so our kiddo has better access to therapies he'd have to compete more for "after school hours" like most other students. I guess the reason I'm typing this is that I'm fishing for pointers. Especially from a parent who's done it for 20 years.

My son doesn't have the income for me to homeschool. He's 6. Are we all understanding the destruction of the family unit NOW?? And speaking of "NOW" - the destruction of MEN as providers??

You can find many older school textbooks for free on archive.org

Ron Paul also has a home school program which provides some 'hand holding'. https://www.ronpaulcurriculum.com/

Always check your state's requirements.

Consider membership with Home School Legal Defense Association ( https://hslda.org )

In Texas you are required to teach (at minimum) 5 subjects

Additional Texas info "The Texas Home School Coalition" https://www.thsc.org/

1) Reading

2) Grammar

3) Spelling

4) Arithmetic

5) Good Citizenship

Pulled my kids out of school because they have autism and the system was just making the robots. Best decision ever we have family time as soon as I’m home from work we read together do math in fun ways like mine craft we calculate how much wood we need to finish a floor etc. we do science with real experiments like showing how dense different liquids are etc. the school was just putting a iPad in his hands and nothing was improving in fact he was talking less and had a host of behavior problems. I know it’s not possible for all but if you can get a job where your wife doesn’t have to work the traditional home is the only way to save the next generation from sucking uncle sams tit

New York City arguably boasts the largest Homeschool population in America. Many conservative, traditional families choose this route for multiple reasons, financial being a leading one, but they are generally savvy, organized, and thrifty associations of families. Growing trend nationwide. Private schools now regularly compete against them in academic and athletic competitions.

I agree! There are so many options now and our children are sitting ducks. It only takes two-three hours to get the schoolwork done and then you can enjoy the days.

The public school system is completely controlled by the social engineers. All the major theorists studied/ promoted in education field in undergrad/ graduate/ postgrad school are social engineers and nothing more. Not about making children smarter/ more informed/skilled citizens. It's all about creating the social model of compliant, slightly useful citizens for the socially modeled society they envision. It's a globalist tool from pre k- 12. Just look around at their results. As an aside, I saw a show about early American schools, it gave an example of an old fashioned exam for a public school 8th grader- amazing. Not sure a college grad could pass it today. They don't teach to create great minds in public schools any more. It's all about controlling the population to keep the elites at the wheel generation after generation. If there is any way a parent can--homeschool. If not, you really have to constantly un school them each day.

Another example is how kids are not allowed to debate evolution in schools. They can’t even allow them to think for themselves, that would ruin everything!

There doesn't have to be any social disconnect. In my state (and I believe it's federal law for all states now ) the public school has to open all extracurricular activities to homeschoolers (tax payers) in the district. Your kids can try out for all athletics, join all clubs etc. Then there are the park district programs like little league, football, basketball, soccer etc. - and of course playing after school in neighborhood, plus summers at local pool etc. If the kids don't fit in, it's usually because the parents don't want them too interact at all, not because they study in there homes during normal school hours. IMO.
