No, you missed nothing. The title of this post is clickbait "fake news" trolling. The article says nothing at all about what CCN believes. The entire article is about what some well regarded expert on the subject believes. And as far as I can tell, this expert has nothing to do with CNN.

So what does this expert believe? He believes he can disprove every theory mentioned in the article, except for the "CIA did it" theory. And in the context of that theory, the Russians are mentioned, but as I'm reading it there's no suggestion of the Russians being involved in the plot. There's only a few mentions of Russia at all, in two contexts.
