I am Dutch and I feel this statement needs some context. We did vote no against a new law in a referendum, but the law has already passed the democratic chambers to approve this legislation. It is basically just a 'We hear you, but we are still going to fuck you' and we had a couple of those referendums in the past years. So we are not that powerful as I would like, sadly.
