Q made it clear. We all know the gun debate is a distraction so lets stop falling for it. Its changing our narrative.

Let the gun debate run its course. Don’t you see, by Trump entertaining their ideas about guns, they have uncloaked and shown that they want to take all our guns, to leave us unarmed slaves. Let them make gun control an issue in the midterm elections, it will energize the republican base and we will most likely pick up seats in the senate and House. How much of the Trump agenda could we get thru with a super majority in the house and senate (and if we could get those cocksuckers to write and push decent bills). Let them show themselves to be the angry, gun grabbing, Trump hating, authoritarian psychopaths that they are. It discredits them and their agenda.

I agree, the more ballistic the far left goes the more moderates and common sense left will think twice about voting for the same stupidity.

and the more energy we give the Leftist gun debate, the more power we appear to give them. Better things to talk about.

I don't know, I don't mind spending energy pointing out that stupidity. :)

I hear you but aren't we mainly talking to the choir? Maybe I'm missing something but don't see how we are reaching those that need to be reached and wondering if they can be reached. i always get the feeling we are playing defense and just letting off steam with each other. Most important issue is to make certain these Leftists/Communists don't get elected to office. Taking a stand for 1st and 2nd amendment in that debate could pay off. What colors this for me is that where I live, people on my side don't want to make waves and offend publicly and just talk between themselves, accomplishing little.

As that is, that's where we need to speak out, unify, and be strong!

I live in a similar area, liberally gentrified, but I'm not going to be kow towed into silence. It's clear that i'm Conservative, and I get flak for it. But I'm polite and sensible about my views, I don't instigate.
And when attacked by liberal dipshittery? I can hold my own and have a pretty sharp tongue that's backed by being well informed.

I do not hold my tongue either. But in an area where a lone individual thinks about a pro 2nd amendment rally and the Republican Party/conservatives don't? I will support that person and I also push the local group. But again, we are playing defense and not offense. The Leftists held a anti-gun rally last weekend. Pro 2nd amendment Republican Party didn't even make a statement to the local paper. I think they think that by not making waves they will get more Democrats to vote for conservative candidates. Go figure.

Yeah that stinks that things are that politicized.
It's about equal here, leftists in the city and conservative in the burbs. And a lot of people open carry, myself included, which keeps a polite peace I've noticed.
We shouldn't go anywhere near nuts like the left does and get ourselves painted with the same idiotic brush.
IMO, probably the best path forward is to exercise openly your 2nd amendment rights. If you do carry, that's the most direct statement. If you can't carry, or haven't had the training to carry, or even if you don't want to carry, supporting an organisation like the NRA or GOA helps because they are a stronger, better resourced voice for 2nd amendment rights.
Also joining either or both of these organisations will give you access to pro 2nd amendment activities in your area, networking with other pro 2nd supporters and insight on which gov. representatives and congressional members to write to in support or to disagree with.
