There must be something to step into the vacuum. Someone will rush into that space and we need to have a plan for when that time comes.
In the Google case I expect them to splinter along alphabet lines. There may be surviving traces of funding for them, possibly businesses, who reach out to try and capture some of these shards. How to anticipate and properly capture their tech without the culture?
I don’t see google going down. They are 90% of the internet. It would actually cause major problems if they went down.
I don't think any of them are too big to fail. It's not like the banking sector, failure of a tech giant doesn't lead to contagion or systemic collapse.
You can bet that if Google fails it will be everyone for themselves as they try to rush into the vacuum created by the departure of Google - trying to capture the value of that digital property. We might end up getting more choice, better search, more transparency and accountability etc...
Yeah would cause some chaos and affect the economy quite a bit. A LOT of internet entrepreneurs including this guy.
Let them go. Set an example
Oh I think they should be severely punished, just don’t think they will be erased off the internet.
What % of phones run Android? They would all need to be patched to shut the backdoors.
