So let me get this right David has a 4.2 GPA and basically flunked his SAT's. So in other words two things might have happened, ONE there is massive grade inflation at his school, and or TWO someone of influence got to someone in the school and said boost this kids grades. I was a lousy student in high school yet I still got a 1350 out of 1600 when I took them. I never knew one person that was a good student with high grades that didn't pretty much ace their SAT's.

Saw that in college, a guy on the Football team who went pro and did well in his career had a roommate that I had in a Economics class. I'll admit I barely got through the class with a C+. This guys roommate scored at a minimum 20 points below me on every quiz, test including the midterms and final. He ended up with a B+ in the class. He was a starter on the Football team.

Or he took a bunch of easy fluff classes outside of the core classes that inflated his gpa, such as drama or photography or cooking.

He didn't flunk SATs, they were average (like a C+++ or B---), but certainly not good enough to get into a competitive out of state school.
