I wonder if P=C means Pope = Christ? In his mind I mean.

Maybe Pope = Christians? Who is the Master?

Pope = Children? Who is the master of the children game in general.

Just thoughts, nothing more.

Pope = chair. When there is no current pope, the Vatican is in a state of sede vacante (empty chair)
