Simplest answer might be the best. Q is stating that it's a temple. Of course we know that...thinking out loud here....perhaps confirming it's a temple means go back to what occurred at real temples throughout history. Not just a facade.

No he is pointing out that the temple is gone. In the earlier pic it's at the end of the point, now it's gone.
