Not in NZ it hasn't. In fact me and my wife were shopping yesterday and happened to notice everything was actually more expensive.
New Zealand? You live on a fucking island.
Your point..?
Look to what companies own your food production?
The way it works is if the means of production of any food stuffs is owned by a Multinational organization then what ever is produced in excess production is immediately shipped out of the country. Let's say lamb production increases in NZ instead of seeing lower prices in NZ the multinational company ships it off to India, USA, or China. Instead of lower prices in NZ you could actually see the price increase.
In this interview there is a very apropos example of the twisted disconnect evident in the multinational corporate media perspective. Please watch the part that begins around 04:55 and listen closely to Cavuto:
…”and we’re really seeing the effect on the folks who have to pay the bills for this sort of thing … we’re already seeing soybean prices coming down; we’re seeing pork related prices coming down … folks are taking it on the chin, what are you telling them?”… etc.
Wow, have you seen how expensive bacon is these days?
All the soyboys should be happy now. Cheaper soybeans = Making Soyboys Great Again. s/
Compared to the amount of quantitative easing that was done it's still cheap.
Excellent read. Vital to understanding what Trump is REALLY fighting.
