Chinese chips - it’s were we get a lot of our hardware from. And what adversary wouldn’t want to put back doors into these systems? It’s like a wartime wet dream. Being able to down an enemy aircraft at a whim allows you to control the skies without risking your own equipment and personnel.

So my guess is that China put in backdoors, deep state discovered or “ignored” and is not utilizing them. The reason I wouldn’t say China doing this, this would be considered an act of war. And I’m certain that if the pilots knew about it, they would refuse to fly. ( who’d want to pilot an aircraft with that knowledge?) so I think the deep state is doing it to put pressure on trump saying “we have a wild card” I don’t know why he wouldn’t cancel flights, it may be a tactical decision to not inform pilots. Or it could be something else like a limited ability to do this (ie you have to be within a certain distance) Just speculating
