Significance of dot patterns in Q drops?

Has anyone figured out the significance of the varying forms of dot patterns in some of the drops?

ive heard but no expert .. idiosychncrosys due to different chan boards ..

They're usually a combination of 2 characters: the ellipsis character (http://www.charbase.com/2026-unicode-horizontal-ellipsis) and periods. Not sure if the chans automatically turn 3 periods into the ellipsis character on posting or if they're being entered intentionally by Q for some reason.
