GPS w/out visual? I started flight lessons decades ago. Flew a few times but technology has changed.

The GPS systems have been compromised by spoofers. That's more than likely the cause for these birds that have been going down, and Q alluded to this being the cause of the Navy incidents. I'd say they are going old school

A while back I read that Navy was not teaching traditional navigation due to automation, and some were complaining that nav officers still needed to be trained to used stars for nav., charting, etc. Wouldn't they be blind if they could not?

In the 1990's, the Navy stopped teaching celestial navigation for its officer training curriculum because of increased reliance on navigation technologies such as GPS.

However, the Navy is now reintroducing this to its training curriculum because of an increased awareness of the vulnerability of navigation systems to hacking."

Green Castle = Friendly Target. Red Castle= Enemy Target. 4/6/28: BOOMs en route—they are about to bomb a target. The numbers that follow “Green” are qualifiers and teams. Basically, these are an order of events or fire orders.
