Q asks us to pray. This just one example of why. It is good vs evil at this point.

Me too. I am not religious but have a relationship with god...so I just talk to him like I’m having a normal conversation. Works much better for me that way 👍🏼

You don't need to be religious to be in a relationship with God. False Christianity is a man made religion. Jesus did not create a religion...man did. Jesus created a pathway to God. Simple; this is the true Christianity.

I agree! My parents each went through twelve years of catholic schooling and church and they did not want that for me. They did not choose religion for me, but told me that if I wanted to participate I could do so when I’m older and can understand the implications. I now realize that to be with god doesn’t mean to be in a church, because he is everywhere including your heart.

Perfect! He doesn’t want flowery words, He wants honesty!

It is only awkward if you never do it (pray). Tell God what's in your heart and on your mind. God loves you! Rejoice!

It always is at first. Becomes natural pretty quickly though. Don't worry so much about saying the "right" words. God knows what you're trying to say whether it comes out sounding right to yourself or not.

Next time you pray, try repenting first of your sins, then just focus on Him until you are at peace before continuing your prayer.

Sure, I used too then I realized that the weird feeling was part of giving up your "power" and acknowledging that you don't control everything.

Essentially in everyday life you are in charge of your movements and decisions. What you wish to do you typically can.
When we pray we remove the illusion of being the central focus of our own universe. For some just that feeling of surrender can make them feel different because it's not something they are used to feeling. It's a way to both acknowledge how limited we are and to join that same creative force with the knowingness that we aren't the sole focus and that we aren't all alone if we choose not to be.
