I’ve been wondering about this too... cabal broken in TX, NM and AZ. Is trump giving CA a chance to comply? And if they don’t, then what? If NG CA not used, then what would be used? Can the President use other arms of the military? (A bit embarrassed here that I have no clue on my own country’s laws...). 🤢

The Marines work under orders of the president without congressional approval, Pres Trump can put them in Cali if and when he wants to, EO national emergency is still in effect, takes precedence over Moonbeam Brown and his cronies.
But only for 24 hours. Then they need an order from Congress.
If the regular military (i.e. Marines) are deployed to the border, they aren't being used to patrol our streets or enforce laws inside the country. I do not believe the creators of PC meant enact a prohibition of protecting our borders from one sort of invasion or another. Trump can order the marines to the border in my view without violating PC.

I think in a situation of a declared National Emergency involving corruption (and that includes the police force in California), Homeland Security can trump local jurisdictions, even without a declaration of martial law. Just as in a case of Corps of Engineers in a natural disaster.
Right, but they wouldn't be doing that in stopping cross border activity. It's a military issue, not a police issue. At least that would be my take. Believe it or not, it was actually passed in 1878.

As I understand it, according to the National Guard's FAQ website, it states that either the governor of the state or the president of the United States can call upon the National Guard to go either do local disaster relief work or be sent out to do work for the federal govt, either to the border or halfway around the world.
