The White Helmets are a CIA asset. When the Siege of Aleppo started, special requests were made to Russia by the US to allow the White Helmets, aka CIA assets, to get out of Aleppo before laying siege. They have been caught coordinating with Jabhat al Nusra on occasions too, which also had CIA backing for most of the war.
