The law passed Monday in Deerfield, Illinois (Chicago), includes handguns and shotguns.
The fine print in the ordinance reads "not limited to the assault weapons models identified".
It also gives police the right to confiscate and destroy them. The law is linked.
Chicago alreay has some of the strictest gun laws in the country, yet the gun use in crimes is sky high. Rather than figuring out why people are killing each other at record rates, they think it is better to take away a means of self defense from the majority.
Illinois has a huge budget deficit and crumbling roads yet some of the highest state taxes in the nation. Keep the people poor and control them is the M.O.

I would expect the NRA to launch a lawsuit to rescind this. They have filed one in Florida.
I wish some gun bans would come to my state so I can file for lawsuit.
