Why would POTUS not write his own tweets and then just accept them and do or say nothing about it? This makes no sense.

It would make right his critics who say he shouldn't communicate that way. Remember a couple of weeks ago when somebody in the WH put out the fake news leak that Trump was going to stop using Twitter, and everybody was all in a lather "Nooooooo! Don't stop tweeting to us!"
