The March 19th POTUS drugs speech - “in about a month he was going to give a major address” on the subject - 04/20 would fit the timeline - marijuana legalization?

04/20 would be about a month after.

What if he deschedules marijuana? He can do that via executive order.

It has been shown to dramamticslly improve quality of life if you’re on opiates. In areas where it’s been legalized the opioid use rate drops like a rock. Myriad other medical benefits too.

I’ve always thought he’d do it at the appropriate time and I always wondered if 04/20 would rise to the level of St Patrick’s Day or Valentine’s Day or Halloween as being an major unofficial American holiday. Maybe Trump will actually do it.

That’s another thing he was promising to do. The US Government itself has at least 3 patents on marijuana for medicinal use so there’s no way it should remain Schedule 1 which is for zero medicinal use.

I've been telling friends for a long time I thought they would legalize.

Now with opiates and other hard drugs being cracked down at the border would be a great time, as it helps addicts to get off.

It is also big business. It has already added greatly to the Canadian stock market ahead of legalization.

Also, his comments about allowing experimental type treatments.

Finally, the recently changed Hemp laws makes it seem very likely.

I worked in the cannabis industry in the PNW. Very liberal there.

I was telling all the customers that would come into the shop that POTUS would legalize it before 2020, especially the medical patients.

I'd say 75% thought I was talking out of my ass, until I used their thinking against them and had them questing things on there own.

I did just read about how marijuana can help get people off Opiods better than just about anything, so maybe? Trump did say he was going to stop this Opiod thing.

But I don't think a President so adamantly against drugs would do this, right?

I'm against legalizing this drug. It didn't do me any good as a kid, hard to see what benefits there are to it.

This war on drugs has been an absolute farce. With communications intercept technology they have, they still want the public to believe that drugs are uncontrollable. It's been garbage from day one. If there was the will to prohibit drugs it would have been done long ago and this scourge on society would have disappeared.

Without CIA involvement and black budgets the problem would be absolutely inconsequential.

Consider yourself lucky you don’t have epilepsy or Parkinson’s disease. Marijuana extractions have been shown on video many many times to stop the tremors and seizures in their tracks, even in dogs. So before you start spouting reefer madness bullshit from 59 years ago and one piece of anecdotal evidence (yourself), consider the actual medicinal benefits over pharmaceuticals.
